With beautiful weather and a beautiful location at the historic Spreespeicher in Berlin, ub:Con 2017 kicked off with a welcome note by company founder David Federhen. This was followed by a keynote presentation from Jürgen Weichert, Head of Strategic Partner Development DACH at Google, “The digital Consumer today - Status & Opportunities,” sharing insights into the shift in customer behaviour to research online before purchasing in-store, as well the omnichannel consumer.
Martin Scholz, SVP Strategic Partnerships at uberall, acted as Master of Ceremonies and led through the two-day event. Jonathan MacDonald, founder of the Thought Expansion Network, opened Day 1’s sessions and inspired uberall partners and staff alike, with his session, “How to identify and maximize opportunity in a world of perpetual change,” focusing on the opportunities that this change creates for service providers globally.
Patrick Schaudel, VP of Online Marketing & eCommerce at 1&1, presented, “Search results, online reviews and sales - why local marketing is an important key to success for SMBs.” This session focused on the importance of location marketing and consumer interaction for the success of SMBs, particularly online ratings and reviews, sharing the 1&1 success story as an uberall reseller.
Day 1’s sessions wrapped up with an uberall partner panel discussing “Models for Success,” where partners gave insights into their experience providing location marketing products to SMBs. Topics included everything from sales training to specific insights on the uberall Engage module, as an all-in-one review management tool for SMBs.
A live Q&A gave the audience the opportunity to ask questions to the panellists directly. Panellists included Susanne Hartmann, Managing Director at BFB BestMedia4Berlin GmbH, Gino Cardenas, VP of Marketing at Hostopia, Matt Wiles, Product Management at Infoserve, Shara Harland, Transactional Product Manager at Johnston Press, and Frank Huber, Head of New Services & Portfolio at localsearch. The panel was moderated by uberall’s VP of Partner Growth, Elisabeth Kurek.
Day 1 ended with a networking BBQ and after-party, giving uberall partners and staff an opportunity to network in a fun, relaxed setting.
Day 2 started with fresh coffee and interactive workshops in the morning. uberall partners chose the workshop topics and collaborated with fellow resellers and uberall staff in small groups to find creative and practical solutions to take back and apply to their everyday business.
ub:Con Partner Exchange 2017 concluded with an insider-only uberall product presentation, where co-founder Florian Hübner and senior product manager, Victor Landau, gave partners a sneak peek at the uberall roadmap and what 2018 has in store for our partners.
