Google just announced its latest Google My Business API, which includes updates to the “Follow” feature. Google has been rolling out a new way for users to follow local businesses and stay up-to-date with their events, offers and news in Google Maps, which are displayed in a “For You” tab on mobile.
Businesses of all sizes can not only leverage this functionality to create location-driven content, further enticing prospective customers to their brand and physical locations, but also monitor the number of followers interested in their locations.
The new Google API v4.4 is already integrated on the Uberall platform. You can immediately begin to benefit from the new and improved functions on your platforms, such as:
- Retrieve the number of followers: The number of followers per location is now available in the Dashboard Metrics Excel export.
- Enhanced verification options: Local service businesses can now verify their locations within the platform.
Google quality control update: To ensure all businesses are meeting Google’s guidelines for representing their business, Google may review location updates. You can check whether Google is reviewing your profile in the Directories tab on the platform.
